Born in the small Slovenian town of Komenda in 1998, Tadej Pogačar grew up chasing his older brother on bikes far too big for him. When a local club finally found a frame small enough, his talent exploded. Guided by coach Andrej Hauptman, he rose quickly through junior ranks, winning the Tour de l’Avenir in 2018 and marking himself as cycling’s next big thing.

Pogačar stunned the world by taking the Tour de France in 2020 at just 21, then defending his title in 2021. He added Monuments like Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Il Lombardia and an Olympic bronze in Tokyo, while 2024 saw him pull off an extraordinary triple: Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and the world championship road race.

In 2025 he’s carried that dominance forward, taking early-season victories at the UAE Tour, Strade Bianche, the Tour of Flanders and Liège-Bastogne-Liège before sealing his fourth Tour de France. Along the way he passed 100 professional wins and conquered Mont Ventoux in record time, underlining his blend of climbing brilliance, time-trial power and race-day instinct. From a boy on an oversized bike to the defining rider of his era, Pogačar’s rise shows no sign of slowing.
