On January 4th, 2026, Mathieu van der Poel once again totally dominated at the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup in Zonhoven, Belgium, nailing his ninth consecutive victory of the season in baltic semi snowy conditions. He delivered a massive watt bomb on the first lap hammering the crazy sandy descents and won solo, in spite of a mid-race puncture. This win establishing him as the new World Cup leader.
